Die Grafiken von Gazmend Freitag entstanden 2014 für eine Gruppenausstellung in der renommierten Wiener Tanzschule Roman E. Svabek zum Thema „Hommage an Ginger und Fred“. Sie widmen sich Fred Astaire, dem „Meister des Parketts“, einem der berühmtesten Tänzer der Filmgeschichte und Ginger Rogers, seiner Traum-Partnerin auf der Leinwand sowie dem Stepptanz. Gazmend Freitag empfindet hier den Glamour dieses Tanzpaares und das Feeling der Hollywood-Ära der 30er und 40er Jahre nach.
Gazmend Freitag, der sich in seiner künstlerischen Arbeit immer wieder mit der menschlichen Figur und Portraits beschäftigt, konzentriert sich in seinen realistischen Tusche- und Bleistiftzeichnungen auf das Zusammenspiel der Tanzpaare, den Rhythmus und die Leichtigkeit der schwungvollen Bewegung. Er betont dabei typische Merkmale und Charakteristika, um die Aura und die Magie wiederzugeben, die das Besondere des Stepptanzes ausmachen.

HOMAGE TO GINGER AND FRED BY GAZMEND FREITAG
This graphic work, drawn by Gazmend Freitag in 2014 for a group exhibition at the prestigious Roman E. Svabek Dancing School in Vienna, pays tribute to Fred Astaire, “Master of the Dance Floor” and one of the most famous dancers in film history, and Ginger Rogers, his dream partner on the silver screen and in tap dancing. In “Homage to Ginger and Fred”, Gazmend Freitag captures the glamour of this dance couple and also the feeling from the Golden Age of Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s.
Gazmend Freitag, an artist whose artistic work is always centered on the human figure and portraits, has focused in his realistic ink and pencil drawing on the interplay between the dancing couple and on the rhythm and ease of their swinging motion. In this picture he emphasizes typical features and characteristics to reproduce the aura and magic especially evident in tap dancing.
